The traditional light bulbs phased out in Europe and replaced by alternative energy efficient bulbs. The EU decided to stop production and imports of conventional, transparent power lamps 100 watt, from September 1, 2009 and stores may have only their stocks. Over the years, the lowest power incandescent bulbs will be phased in to replace halogen lamps, fluorescent and light emitting diode (LED). The energy efficiency is very low, with 90% of the energy consumed is converted into heat, while the average lifespan is one year. In contrast, halogen lamps consume 25% less energy and their lifetime is at least twice. Even less energy consuming fluorescent lamps with life up to 10 times more. Over the years, finally, should be widely disseminated by the light-emitting diodes (LED) energy saving of 80%. Although energy efficient bulbs are more expensive than traditional incandescent bulbs, the price difference shrinks over time.
